Summer Project 2018

Helping The Community

For our “I CARE” 2018 project, we returned to the same school where the “I CARE” 2016 project took place. We were beyond excited to visit the same class, to see some familiar faces again. The teachers warmly welcomed us once again, and the students, again, gave us their fullest attention and effort for all three days of our adventure together. This year we were joined by three new members- Luna, April(whose real name is also Luna), and Judy. With more experiences and less stage fright, all members contributed in making our 2018 project into a wonderful experience.

Summer Project 2018: What We Do

Again, we focused on their individual writing skills, while played multiple group games for the students to practice their speaking and pronunciation. During these games, the students were able to practice their English orally and also use new vocabulary words that were introduced earlier to the class.

During the debate-prep process, students eagerly asked questions after questions, trying to improve their use of language and grammar. We were very gratified to watch this process, and listen to their individual responses during the debate. Each and every of them put efforts into their writing that were much well improved, and all of us worked hard to make that happen.

With the beautiful sights to see in Inner Mongolia, we hosted a talent show, as we sang songs that were quite popular in the Western world and the students presented us with something unique to them. Some sang their traditional ballads, while others played instruments we’ve never seen in our lives. We were amazed and educated, as we’re also learning from the students at Amugulang no.1 Middle school. As this year’s adventure came to an end, we are now looking forward in continuing our story in the summer of 2019 !!
